MY SOPHOMORE YEAR JAM.

(This post seems kind of random, but I just saw a something about classics being made into films.)
I’ve never read The Great Gatsby, Lord of the Flies, Catcher in the Rye, or most of those other ‘dreaded’ required books. I moved after sophomore year of high school, and if I had remained at my other school I would’ve read them all. But, by the time I got to my new one, they had already completed them in past English classes. Funny how that works out; most people would rejoice at their luck, but it made me upset.
The books are definitely on my reading list, as it seems kind of wrong to not read them in my lifetime. With that being said, I did get to read some wonderful books for class. In my “Images of the Self” course alone, I read what were to become three of my favorite books: The Picture of Dorian Gray, The Bell Jar, and Mrs. Dalloway.
I really miss high school English classes. Now that I’m in college and pursuing a specific major, I no longer get to read classic literature. Instead, I’m left with textbooks, non-fiction novels about current world affairs, and stuff that basically doesn’t let me fantasize about living in the countryside and wish I was married to a man of great wealth and power (aka books I would willingly read).

Kick off your shoes,
let’s go and make a memory.
Let’s do all the things we say we’re gonna do
and not leave them lonely.

Remember that time I got Tom Felton’s (and Alfonso Cuaron’s) autograph on a New York City popout map? LOL. His face when it was handed to him was classic:

As each day passes, the closer we get to July 15, the more excited I become. It’s been 10 years, 10 epic years. So many memories. Harry Potter has become the bigger part of my childhood, and now it’s about to end. So much excitement goes through me whenever I think of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2. Sure it’s not the book, but adaptations can never be the book, it’s always different but I’ve love them anyways. Only 2 months left, not long to go now!
Tears streaming down my face already! The other day, I was actually rereading the Vanity Fair article I kept from October 2001, in which they were questioning how successful Sorcerer’s Stone was going to be. Little did they know… lkds;fja;lfjsa;lfja;
